Nowadays, I like to visit the city of Berlin, capital of Germany. Located in the northwest of Germany a few kilometres from the border with Poland. Berlin is crossed by the rivers Spree and Havel. Berlin has 3.4 million inhabitants. Berlin is the most populous city of Germany. After the Second World War the city was divided into two parts: the eastern part of the city became the capital of East Germany, while the region west of the city became the Federal Republic of Germany. Berlin is a cultural and artistic world. Therefore there are many things to visit. It is one of the most influential in the political arena of the European Union and in 2006 was chosen by UNESCO Creative City.
First of all my friends and I will visit the historic city centre. Where we will see the Brandenburg Gate, symbol of the reunification of the country, located near the remains of the demolished Berlin Wall. Later we will also see the Reichstag, the German parliament, next to the Holocaust Memorial, 2711 concrete blocks that remind us of the horrors of the Holocaust by the Nazis. Also we will visit the Pergamon Museum.
On the other hand we will go to Potsdamer Platz, where today you can find modern shopping malls and skyscrapers. We will visit the Sony Center and Alexanderplatz in the heart of old Berlin, where is the TV tower with a revolving restaurant where we will go to eat.
Berlín is victim city and witness the most exciting events of the twentieth century. But it is also a city with great cultural diversity that is worth to visit.
